As an R&D Officer based at our offices in Crewe, working closely with our consultant Chemist, you will play a crucial role in our mission to become best in class.



Duties

Key Responsibilities: As our R&D Officer, you will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities that are central to our success which include:
• End-to-End Project Management: You will be the driving force behind R&D activities, ensuring projects stay on track, and all technical requirements are met. Your attention to detail and organizational prowess will be vital in achieving timely and successful project completions.
• Supervision of Plant Trials: Taking ownership of and managing plant trials for new developments will ensure seamless handover of formulations, supporting quality and production.
• Data Analysis and Product Enhancement: By interpreting sample test results, you will provide comprehensive feedback, proposing improvements to enhance our products further. Your insights will contribute to our continuous pursuit of excellence.
• Efficient Database Maintenance: You will meticulously maintain our development database and coordinate activities to meet the requirements of both customers and prospects, while keeping costs in check.
• Competitive Benchmarking: Through benchmarking exercises against our competitors, you will unearth invaluable insights to guide our strategic decisions and maintain our competitive edge.
• Cost Engineering and Quality Assurance: Your proficiency in cost engineering will drive improvements in company profits without compromising product quality and performance.
• Staying Ahead of the Curve: Keeping yourself and the company updated with the latest technology, innovations, and relevant legislation will be a key aspect of your role. Your knowledge will be the key to staying ahead in a fast-paced industry.
• Strong Supplier Relationships: Your ability to build and maintain informative relationships with suppliers will foster innovation and cost efficiency in our products.

Requirements

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Science related subject
• Experience in research and development, with a track record of successful project management would be desirable.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and propose actionable improvements.
• An innovative mindset with a passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and breakthroughs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, allowing you to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
