Aztec Aerosols Key Account Director Celebrates 20-year anniversary

Celebrations are aplenty at Aztec Aerosols as Key Account Director, Ged Owen, celebrates 20 years’ service.

Reminiscing on his 20 years at Aztec Aerosols, Ged said: “I joined Aztec in September 2004. My first role at Aztec was Purchasing Manager and was tasked with reviewing the procedures and processes. This then developed in supporting the introduction of new business, eventually leading me into my sales journey”

In 2005, Ged secured his first major client – a customer who has remained a crucial account for Aztec for the past 20 years. Over the next 10 years, Ged’s role gradually evolved from purchasing to Sales and in 2009 he was promoted to Business Development Manager and joined the ever-growing sales team.

This period was certainly met with challenges, the most significant of which was the fire that devastated the factory in 2007.  In the wake of a tumultuous period, the Aztec Management team embarked on an ambitious 18-month journey to meticulously rebuild and revitalise their business.

2015 marked another promotion for Ged when he became Commercial Director with responsibility for all key accounts.

In September 2017, Aztec Aerosols joined the Instarmac Holdings family resulting in considerable investment in their production facilities, with a focus on strengthening procedures and processes to become even more efficient.

Reflecting on his time at Aztec Aerosols, Ged shared: “My role over the last 20 years has evolved in many ways and for the last 4 years, as Key Account Director, I have been 100% sales focused – responsible for managing our key accounts and developing new business. As a team, we have experienced challenges over the years and can be very proud of many great achievements.”

Ged continued, “When I look back, the development of Aztec Aerosols has meant many positive changes to allow the business to thrive and grow. During the last 20 years I have been lucky to work with many good people and as they say, “people rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.”

On Ged’s 20-year achievement, Managing Director at Aztec Aerosols, Darren Gough, commented: “Ged is a crucial member of the Aztec team and a pillar of support for the business as a whole. Congratulations Ged on this fantastic long-service award.”
